Specialist Programs

Our Specialist Programs enrich learning across all age groups — from babies and toddlers through to our kindergarten children. Delivered by experienced educators and visiting specialists, these programs provide engaging opportunities for children to explore music, movement, sport, technology, and cultural connection in developmentally appropriate ways.

Our programs include PlayBall, Music sessions with Vicki, Fun-Key Yoga, ComputerGym, and our Intergenerational Music Program with Hamble Court. We also value our connection with community, including regular yarning experiences with Trish, supporting children’s understanding of culture and connection to Country.

Through these meaningful experiences, children build confidence, support their physical development, strengthen social relationships, and explore new interests. Our specialist programs are thoughtfully integrated into each room’s curriculum, ensuring all children benefit from a rich, well-rounded, and enjoyable learning experience.

PLAYBALL

Playball is a fun and engaging sports-based program that supports children’s physical development through games, movement, and skill-building activities. Children develop fundamental motor skills such as running, throwing, catching, and coordination, while also building confidence, teamwork, and listening skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Music with Vicki

Our kindergarten children participate in weekly music sessions with Vicki, where they are introduced to foundational music concepts in a fun and engaging way. Through singing, movement, and interactive activities, children explore rhythm, melody, and tempo while developing listening skills and confidence. They also enjoy live performances on the piano and a variety of instruments, sparking creativity and fostering a lifelong love of music.

Fun-Key Yoga

Our Fun-Key Yoga sessions provide children across all age groups with a calm and engaging way to develop body awareness, balance, and coordination. Through playful yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques, children learn to connect their bodies and minds in a supportive environment.

These sessions support children’s physical development while also promoting emotional wellbeing, self-regulation, and mindfulness. Fun-Key Yoga encourages children to slow down, build confidence, and develop strategies to manage their feelings, contributing to a sense of calm and overall wellbeing.

ComputerGym

Our kindergarten children participate in weekly ComputerGym sessions, introducing them to digital technology in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way. Through interactive activities, children develop early computer skills, including hand-eye coordination, problem solving, and basic coding concepts.

The program supports children’s confidence with technology while encouraging logical thinking, creativity, and persistence. ComputerGym is delivered in a structured yet playful format, ensuring children build essential digital skills in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Intergenerational Music Program

Our kindergarten children participate in our Intergenerational Music Program with residents from Hamble Court, providing a meaningful opportunity to connect with the wider community. Through shared music experiences such as singing, movement, and simple instrument play, children build relationships with the residents in a warm and respectful environment.

This program supports children’s social and emotional development, fostering empathy, kindness, and a sense of belonging. It also encourages communication skills and confidence, while creating joyful shared experiences across generations.

Yarn with Trish

We are very fortunate to have built a strong connection with Trish Neville, a local Bunurong woman, who visits our Centre monthly to run incursions with children in each room across the service. Through her visits, Trish shares her knowledge, stories and cultural practices, helping children develop a deeper understanding and respect for First Nations culture.
